Abstract
The present study attempts to provide an answer to the following question : « What is the relationship between the types of leadership of high schools principals and the dynamics of the educational community ? ». A priori, the study is basically interdisplinary in nature wherein different disciplines such as sociology, social psychology and psychology overlap. The present researcher has adopted a systematic approach in his endeavor to meet the scientific requirements of such investigations. In the theoretical part, the focus has been on the identification and elicitation of the variables (viz., leadership type and dynamics of the educational community). The premise of such a step has been primarily to sustain the fieldwork investigation. With the view of achieving the objective of the descriptive methodology of investigation, the reliance on measurement techniques, survey of the study variables, and the description of the relation between the types of leadership and dynamics of the educational community have been the linchpin of the current study .The questionnaires , which were prepared previously by the researcher , have been delivered to a sample population (n= 140) across the territory of the wilaya of Biskra . The questionnaires, the their validity, reliability and practicality. After the administration of the questionnaires, the researcher has conducted a quantification operation of the surveyed populations’ answers. The outcomes are hereby briefly presented: The orientation type of leadership is the directive leadership type of the high school principals. Next in line come authoritative leadership type, participative leadership type , and consultative leadership type. Also, this study concludes that the dynamics of the educational community is closeness ; the relation between the participative and consultative types of leadership on the one hand and the dynamics of the educational community on the other hand is both negative and reversible. Besides, it has been noticed that there exit statistically-evidenced differences between the surveyed population in the demographic variables(age, gender, experience, seniority) according to the Educational Community Measurement. As for the types of leadership, the statistically-evidenced outcomes sustain that differences are gender-biased in favor of male principals, whereas no statistically-evidenced differences seem to exist in age-and experience (seniority) -related variables. Ultimately, the present researcher has come up with a host of recommendations that will hopefully contribute to the promotion of the leadership types and the educational communities in the educational institutions.
