Abstract
The economic and ecological impact encourages and even encourages everyone to develop and use renewable materials. Composite materials reinforced with plant fibers are used in several areas of packaging, construction and industry. The mechanical behavior of composite materials based on various raw and treated Diss and Luffah fibers has been tested at tensile, three-point bending and Brinell hardness. We have valued the plants of Diss and Luffa in the form of short fibers as reinforcement in a polyester matrix. First, the fibers were treated with NaOH, and then tensile, bending and Brinell hardness test pieces were developed for composites based on raw and treated fibers. The effects of the treatment on the constituents of the fibers were characterized by observation with a scanning electron microscope and by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The various tests are carried out on composites with different raw fiber content and treated bring a considerable improvement in the mechanical characteristics of the composite material. Our work consists of the characterization of a composite material with different volume ratio of plant fiber of treated and raw Diss and Luffa.
