Abstract
The Maghreb countries and in particular Algeria have a high solar potential. This renewable energy currently presents an answer to environmental problems and greenhouse gas emissions that threaten the entire planet and a lasting solution to the current energy crisis, with the rise in the price of a barrel of oil. . In Algeria, the consumption of electrical energy in the agricultural sector represents a significant share compared to national consumption. The agricultural farms in the Saharan regions use the diesel group to meet the needs for electrical energy in the absence of a network. In addition, the energy resources from fossil fuel deposits are exhaustible, which has led to the search for other means of renewable energy. The results obtained for the pumping study between two cases: the first, is the pumping system (banc d’essai HM 310) powered by an electrical network, the second case, it is powered by a photovoltaic generator, showed that the efficiency of the two systems is similar This proves that the use of a photovoltaic source for irrigation is the best economic compromise for sustainable agricultural development in isolated arid regions.
